help with timing

It was probably retarded. Move the distributor (looking down from above) clockwise slightly, get the engine started and set the timing. You can even start it without the spout being connected.

o.k. , i will advance the timing and then try again disconnecting the spout, to set the timing.i give you some feedback , thanks 4 the help

thank you for the super advise, the engine was very very retarded. lucky i followed it cause someone was telling me that it was c/c/w to advance. i went and moved the distr. and got it running, set the time @ 16 due to my setup. going to put some 91 oct . i'll stay in touch.
