i have a 1996 cobra convert. 74k miles....problem...driving down the highway at 75 mph when the theft light comes on and shuts me down instantly..un safe..locks me out of the system...dealer says the cpm and the ccrm are fried...put new ones in still have short in the system..anything anyone can help with? thanks Dave

gives new meaning to the phrase "Drive it like you stole it"

What does the dealer say about his mis-diagnosis of the cause of the "fried" components? Seems that you should have asked him a more elementary question....like "how do I SOLVE the problem", not just which components to replace. Components don't usually fry without a cause. I think this guy owes you something, especially if you paid him for the parts and service to date. If all you got outa him was advice, I'd be heading elsewhere, cause this guy ain't doing you no favors.
