I have a 2014 V6 base and I notice on occasion when I'm accelerating from a stop the engine hesitates and sometimes feels like it will quit, I have to bush down quickly on the accelerator to get it to recover and then it lurches forward and runs fine. This doesn't happen often .

Anybody experiencing this problem. Any diagnosis.

I recommend stopping by your Ford Dealer and have them check it out, ssdriver. Also, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number, so I can loop in the customer service manager for your area.

Something to look at if you have an automatic: the adaptive shifting in the transmission. The transmission will adapt to more fuel efficient driving, which makes it feel laggy. You can pull fuse 47 under the hood for 10-15 minutes and plug it back in to reset it.

I'm not saying this is going to fix it, but it might be a factor and is easy to do.

I'll give the fuse trick a try and see what happens. As i said it doesn't happen often and is impossible to duplicate, just annoying. I'll see what the dealer has to say when i take it in for service.
Thanks

let me know how that works, it sounds like you are describing the adaptive shifting kicking in, its not as bad once you have a tune on the car.

I checked my owners manual and it made no mention of an adaptive transmission. What it did say was that the automatic has a feature to improve fuel economy while coasting or decelerating. What happens when the vehicle begins to slow down, the torque converter locks up and aggressively shuts off fuel flow to the engine while decelerating. Anyone know of any complaints about this feature?
I also read and article that said most adaptive transmissions are a pita since most new cars sit on the lot and are driven by many people in different ways and when the new owner gets it the ECU is scrambled and then there's the case of multiple drivers( adaptive transmissions learn how "you" drive not your wife or son)
