hey newest N00B here lol....... some questions inside

hey guys, first i wanna say awesome site you have here!, now with the questions (sorry if they sound stupid lol) anyway, right now i'm driving a modifyed 2002 impala (dont laugh LOL), and my motor is slowly dieing, so i'm thinking of upgrading to a 2005-2006 (are there any changes in the years?) GT, but i was wondering, i'm 6ft4 and about 220lbs, i was told i might not fit correctly in it lol, what are your oppinions on that??, also, i was told the 05 has had ALOT of problems, what are the known problems with these cars (theres bound to be some, first year for it really) also.... the gt's ive been looking at have 2 diff rim styles, one are like thick 3 spokes, and the other are like the thinner 5 spoke, looks like a older rim, what are the diff in those 2 models, or is that just options, also, i want a sunroof, is that a option? i cant seam to find that on fords website, i was also wondering how wide the stock 17"s are, i have some aftermarket 17"s on my impala (114.3) that are 7.5" wide and was hoping to be able to use those for awile untill i get some 18x9's in the front and 18x10 in the back. next question, i have 2 flowmaster 40's that are center outlet, can i use these, or do they have to be side outlet?, now about aftermarket, is there a grill where i can ditch those huge fog lights i really hate those for some reason, this will be my very first ford, and the very first ford brought into the family, we are bow-tie guys, but right now i fuckin hate chevy and will never buy one ever again! lol

as you can tell i'm very excited to get my new gt :laughlitt , only thing that worrys me is wareing out tires so damn ouick LMAO

I am about your size, 250, but I have tons of room inn the car, this is the first Stang in many years I could be comfortable in. I love it!!

Get the GT. The only problem I have had with mine is the fuel tank. On many of the 05s, the sensor in the fuel tank always thinks the tank is full. So when you go fill up with gas, you'll basically be "topping off" for about 20 minutes to fill your tank. I brought it to the dealership and they fixed it (free, obviously). As for the tires, the stock ones are 235/55/ZR17. If you get the Deluxe model, the wheels are 17" gunmetal Torq-Thrust style. If you go with the Premium package, you'll get the silver double 5-spoke design. If you get an '06, you can get 18s as an option. As for your exhaust, your flowmasters, most likely, won't fit. The GTs exhaust is pretty radical in the fact that the pipes bend over the rear axle and swaybar. And, no, there ism't a sunroof option on the Mustang. However, if you can wait a couple months, Classic Design Concept will be releasing their Glassback Panoramic Roof.

P.S. As for the grille... Classic Design Concepts will be releasing their billet grille sometime soon (available w/ or w/o fog lights).

I'm 6-5, 225. Nice and comfortable. Easy getting in and out. No maintenance issues so far (knock on wood). And when laughing, agree with GIG, we try to do it quietly and to ourselves... Good luck with the purchase

GET THE GT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for problems, you are listening to your GM buddies too much.

Yes there are a few issues, but nothing like what my exp with GMpoop has been.
Ford has tsb's for all known issues, and all I had were fixed by my dealership in one day:
Front end popping noise
Gas tank replacement

That's it. Some people had probs with the shaker stereo, I don't have it, so does not apply.

I bought a late built 05 and have had none of the issues previously mentioned.

Changes between 05/06 are only wheel options as far as I know, and you can get any wheel you like with the premium or deluxe if you order.

I am a GM transplant as well, and even though I loved my F-bodies and the current GTO, I am in love with my stang. Bang for the buck wise its an awesome car and plenty of aftermarket material already available.

Your Wheels wont fit, your mufflers wont fit, but you will :thumbsup

thanks for the help guys!, i'm waiting till may to get my gt, not much sense to have it in the winter, and not be able to use it, sucks my muffs or rims wont work

Better time to make a deal than in the spring when demand goes back up.

Plus, you can use it in the winter.. just not when there is snow and crap all over the place.

Don't wait... you need to go test drive.

Once you drive on like I did... you wont think about anything else.

Oh, and winter time is Mod time:laughlitt

well, i dont use my "nice" cars in the winter, dont like salt, and i hate rust so, i store during the winter, and use a 95 shitbox grand am, oh and i did test drive a auto today, i deff wont be getting a auto.
