Is your car a manual? If not look HERE Don W is the first known Kenne Bell on an auto.

First things first. As you have seen by visiting these forums superchargers can go boom. I'm not implying that a Kenne Bell will but anything is possible. Tuning is still the most important factor in a supercharged vehicle. The Kenne Bell is at the top of my short list along with the Saleen but reasearch here is your best friend

If you're afraid of telling your wife you're spending somewhere around $8,000.00 Canadian for a blower for your new mustang because she'll freak out think of what she'll say if you ventilate the block and need to spend another $8,000 for a new shortblock.

If you have the money and it's not planned for anything else, that is one thing, but If you don't have the money and the wife finds out, prepare to duck.

How about asking... for some reason my wife lets me get by with a lot more if I ask first

I am starting to understand why the Divorce rate is so high.

Sean Hyland is the best in the industry from what i read & research.Cost a little bit more, but this is all they do.They are also featured on many speed channels & tracks around the globe.I will be limiting the HP to 450.also has a valet mode to turn it off when the wife drives it(when i let her)as of yet i have not. This is not my starter wife, this is my 2nd marriage. The money is not a issue to me but to her, well we could spend it on shoes, clothes, hair care, casino slot machines, anything but the car.You guys know what i mean, they come up with all kinds of big words to make us feel bad for wanting to add more power to our cars. She already thinks its fast enough.I need a good reason to pull the car out of storage & send it away for 4 days come on guys.

The way I see it is that it depends on the whole relationship thing. Does she ask you when she wants to buy something expensive? or is it a mutual discussion (Dr. Phil steping in here). She has her stuff and you have yours. When I bought my car, it was my wife's encouragment because she knew I wanted one, if I came up with the idea and if she was dead set against it, I would not have bought it because it would not have been worth the many years of pain :laughlitt You don't have to tell her exactly what is being done, you could say your car is getting a custom tune or something. If you already mentioned the supercharger, you have a lot of convincing to do to get her to see things your way. Like it would make you so happy, blah blah, Good luck with that.

How about you are sedning it out for a custom tune.

Could you have them add something for looks.. like a Duck Tail spoiler, new Hood, Grill?

How about some electronics... have an I-pod adapter or satellite radio added in. How about a Sub in the trunk?

All these are much cheapper and easily noticeable by her.

Though seriously, you and you wife should be on the same page on what you want. My wife and I worked out a plan for our money. Since we are still young and have not purchased our own house yet (many reaosons why) we devised a plane to get there. I can have whatever I want for the Mustang, as long as I put 50% of the cost into the savings account for the House Down Payment. So, like I want Kooks Long Tubes, so last night I moved $700 over into the savings account. Now the next time I free up $1400... I can get long tubes.

My wife likes shoes... all she has to do is put 50% over into the savings whenever she buys a pair. That keeps us both happy. Plus I handle all the money amd since she gets paid once a month, I just take her pay check, devide it up by percentage based off our incomes and pay the "us" bills. Once that is done, I transfer the remaining money over to her account and ask no further questions.

We never fight over money this way, and when major purchases come around (like long tubes) we discuss it. Sometimes I have to wait a month or two before getting somethign for my cars... other times she just simply sayes if we can afford it.. go ahed.

Maybe if you try talking to your new wife maybe you can work these thing out before it tears up your second marraige. Money is the #1 cause for divorce (#2 is cheating). I can tell by the way you made some of your statements that you two have some grief between the two of you on what the money should be spent on.

BTW, I am not endorsing using any of the above mentioned Items on your wife to hide the car for a few days

yeah, i agree with Kyle F on this one, she will eventually find out (wives always do) and then you may be on your way to marriage #3....and continuing that trend will cost a hell of a lot more than your car ever would:winks dont lie to her or cover it up. find a way to make her want to please you by giving in to your request for more power....

im lucky with my wife, she likes the car as much as i do, and as long as we can still pay bills and raise our children with everything that we want to provide them, she is cool with about anything i want to do with the car. she doesnt like the idea of the track though, she thinks racing it hard will tear the car up... i told her "yeah, something will eventually break, im ready for that, you race it enough, something will." she thinks that a brand new car should not be used for that. that i should buy an older car for racing. as far as expense, id say she is right. but it would be a crime not to take it to the track on occasion. "its what ford designed it for" i always tell her.:tongue

That Sounds Familiar!! So far, the autocross has approval because it's only highway speeds. Of course, she hasn't been to one I'm in to realize its highway speed SIDEWAYS!!!!:eyepoppin

Be honest with her, man. If you can really afford it, it shouldn't be a big deal if you really discuss it. If you can't afford it, she has a valid point. If she just wants to spend all the money on her stuff, and not let you get what you want, you need a new wife. If you can't share, you're done anyway.:sosad:

I have a 401K (10% Contribution) and she has a state retirement account she pays into (max amount) before we even see our checks. Plus extra life insurance... Bla bla bla.

I have an Engineering Degree and she is finishing Her Masters in Education.

We are trying to sack a nest Egg away now, get our retirements accounts up so we can take advantage oif long term compounding. Then I might take some of the extra money we have in the future and be able to make some hihg risk.high reward typoe investments in new technologies or busineess related to my Engineering profession.

Must think Long Term... though I think this is for another thread. :winks

I was biting my lip earlier and didn't say anything since you did your research and found he's the best in the industry.

My conscience won't let me bite my lip any longer

Here are the things I've been reading for over a year.
Read THIS thread and THIS thread from end to end and tell me if you still have that warm fuzzy feeling.
There are similar threads elsewhere if you use a good search engine and type in the right words like problem, Sean Hyland, SHM.
I wish you all the best with whatever you decide and keep us posted.

Remember the saying Caveat Emptor.

Just do what I did and buy a cot for the garage, that way when she finds out and she is pissed u don't have to sleep in the car you can stretch out on the cot. You might also consider getting a small fridge, microwave and tv out there too.
