40,000--wow!... How's she been maintenance-wise? Any issues or unusual wear & tear?
40k? OMG! i thought i was high by turning over 15k after exactly one year. and i'm about to pay off a $500 gas credit card for driving so much.
I did 1800 miles this year and thought it was too much

+1 wonder if she'll make 200k
With that many miles, it has to be Mostly highway miles, which means she'll see 200k with minimal maintenance, jmo.
40,000

When I worked, in Florida, for FPL [Florida Power and Light], doing contract mapping work, I put 7,000 miles in 28 days, on a rental Chevy Malibu, which I have to say, except for the brakes, handled it wonderfully. The rental car agency was a little miffed when I brought it back though :) If you have ever heard Abu, from the Simpsons? That's who called to yell at me about how they had to sell the car and "We will never rent to you again!" It is really hard to take someone, with that accent, seriously.

Rental guy: "We will burn down your 7-11 and suicide bomb your neighborhood!"

Me: "Hee hee, that accent is so cute!"

BTW, mapping the location of power poles, on a huge, badly folded, plotted map, with no street names, only transit lines and occasional transformer locations... sucks a$$. Many's a time I drove down a road that turned out not to go anywhere. Drive back. Drive around. Suspicious neighbors wondering what the hell this guy is doing outside their trailer, with binoculars and writing something down. It semed they were mostly worried that I would rat them out and they would lose their disability checks or something.

I would have felt terrible doing that to a Mustang!

wow...40k, and with 3.90 gears to boot. wonder if Ford gives out those 'million mile badges' like mercedes? Looks like youre on your way :)

btw- I just rolled over 200 today...guess I got some serious catching up to do :)
I think it has many miles to go, I drove my brother in laws van last week (Econoline don't know what engine) and it has 240K miles on it, still going strong. I think Ford engines are better than ever.
I hope you're right.
My 4.6 in the t-bird is still kickin at 250k. did puff a little smoke from the valve guide seals being bad. But started and ran like day 1.

Keep us up to date 5twenty!

No problems far. And by the way, that's 40,000 hard miles. I don't baby my Stang and my Stang don't want to be babied.

It has grown some annoying rattles but that's it so far.
