Some staff sergeant backed into my mustang at the commissary today, when i waived him down he drove off.

Sucks :(

Pretty deep scratches all along driver side rear, above the wheel well.

Being 18 and having my insurance less than 4 months,
should I claim this? or will my monthly premiums go up?

I know they go up sometimes even if you didn't cause it.

I would try to catch the dik that did it. It depends on your deductible, but that's typically $500, likely even if you claim it it isn't going to get your car fixed. You'll need to call the base security and see if they can help you find the one that did it, they should be able to, it sounds like you saw the car, and the driver's rank, so they should be able to track it down pretty easily. I wouldn't file a claim though, but you should definitely take it to a good body shop and get an estimate to see how much it'll cost. And get with the base security ASAP, before that butthole can get his bumper fixed.

ya man, call in security as mentioned, get an officer involved haha that will really ruin his day :shigrin and get a QUOTE from a body shop and see if u can manage to get it out of him...
DONT claim it on ur insurance it will go up huge and it will cost u less just to fix the dam scratches at a body shop than the typical deductible as racin said...
sorry to hear that man :( ppl with few stripes think theyre everything:so

What an a-hole. Staff or not he would definitely get an ear full. I know some bases make you register your vehicle on base, so if you saw what the guy was driving, shouldn't be too hard to find him. Great example of a d-bag NCO.

Well the MP's called me in the middle of the night (seriously like 3a.m.) and they found the guy,
because of that whole registering car on post thing.

(Wasn't hard to find a white supra, not too many of those running around)

I had my car hit not once, but twice. The first time I had to suck it up, because we couldn't find the guy. Luckily, my deductible is $100 w/ full glass. The second time the lady fessed up immediately and her insurance covered everything.

Glad they caught the guy. If you really want to ruin his day, file a police report as well. I believe he can be charged with a hit and run by local authorities, as well as whatever charges the military decides to press on him.
