Try going through TrueCar or maybe another buying service like Costco, AutoClub or your local credit union. Seems to by-pass a lot of the BS. I bought my 2013 GT through TrueCar from Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood and it was a fairly clean deal. They tried some minor stuff like to charging me $300 to bring the car from another dealer, then $100 for window etching, (which the car didn't have and I wouldn't have paid for even if it did). Finally navigation through their financing person always involves saying no to the extended warranty - but I only had to say no to everything just once.
Advice? Don't bring a trade in, have your own financing already in place, etc. Keep the deal simple.
