Does anybody think they look good on the 99-04 body style? I saw them on American Muscle for like $56 and was wondering if anyone has them, how easy the install is and if its worth it.
-Thanks

I like the pins on pre-99 stangs and post 04 stangs, but for some odd reason I'm just not a fan of them on 99-04's. I think it makes the front look just a little too busy. But, hey, I'm sure there are some stang's out there that can wear them well. If you really like the looks of them, get 'em. It's your stang, you're the one who has to look at it every day.:bigthumbsup

Hmm....I've only seen the stupid suction cup ones. lol. But for the price of those, you could be halfway to buying some gears or something:bigthumbsup

IMO,they set to far from the edge of the hood. I do not like that look, however,I do like hood pins. Again they set back too far on the 99-04's.

Umm... actually the $56 ones are just stick-ons. You have to spend $70 to get actual hood pins that need holes. :yelwacko: UPR Products sells a bunch of different sets (satin, polished, black, really basic, etc) for cheaper. ;) Ford Mustang Billet Hood Pin Kits at UPR Products - Lifetime Warranty!

As far as looks, I can see how they might look a little much on New Edges -- you guys have pretty complex hoods, and as somebody mentioned, makes it look busy. But look at what it offers ya: you can now remove the goofy hood latch and cable stuff (mine kinda sticks anyway). This is especially good if you have a wide-open grill area so you can see that ugly yellow latch... :shigrin Also, I find it easier to unpin the hood than to have reach in and pull the handle, then wiggle my hand under the hood to find the latch, and slide it sideways. Also, it's much easier to close (don't have to try multiple times, and no need to slam the hood) and more secure of a hold -- you now have two thick steel pins holding your hood instead of a spring-loaded latch. :gringreen

But that's just my .02 :wavey Get 'em if you like 'em -- it's your car! Also, I got my hood pins as a gift, so no cost to me! :hihi: But due to the money, I might postpone it until after a few other things are complete... :bigthumbsup

I love the new edge cars, however hood pins are one mod I would stay away from. I think they set a little too far forward. I would love to have them on my 69 but I'm too big of a sissy to drill the hood.

Good luck

i got em on my 03' but i honestly wouldnt have done it if it wasnt for the fact that im styling it retro. The only thing was i bought the stick on ones. Say what you'd like but:
a. its cheaper
b. theres less chance of mistakes
c. you can take em off if you want
d. no feeling of guilt as your drilling
