Hood shaking 2013 mustang

I have a 2013 gt with the factory vents in the hood.
I notice around 85 mph the hood begins to shake
quite alot. The dealer is looking into it, and I am
wondering if anyone has experienced this problem?.
I know the easy fix is to do the speed limit, but is that
all that possible when the road is open and they built the
car to do 160:))??. So when you cant even do 85 then
hmm. So again just wondering if this is a common thing.

Can't speak to my hood as I've never driven that fast. But I think it can be easily adjusted out between the two hood bumpers and the latch itself.
I used to live outside Tampa, near the OP and if you were not doing 80 you would get run over.

I have not noticed the hood shake on mine, but it is still new and I don't think I have even had it up to 85 yet. unfortunately people don't seem to drive as fast around St. Louis
Yeah cuz 85mph is insane territory. This guy, thanks for keeping us all safe internet police.
I don't usually pick on anyone because of what's under the hood of your car but in this case if you owned a 2011+ GT you might understand the random urge to just open her up until you hit the governor.:D
135 the other day racing a v6 mustang no problems with my 13.
I have had my 2012 well beyond that speed and did not notice any shaking of the hood or any other part of the car.

I have driven my Mustang in reverse at that speed,I noticed my trunk lid vibrates a little at 135 MPH.:nogrinner
No I just do the speed limit and I can't take my dads vett and go 120 easy but we take that to the track. I'm a cop and have seen people going 85 around my town it's ridcoulous. Lot depends on where you live but in a city or town can't stand it. Last week I went on a call a person got hit someone was speeding and there phone. So yeah track it or go out In the boones
Or just come to Texas! We have 85 MPH on one road near Austin.

Or come to Texas and drive SH130. 85 is legal but you gotta' pay tolls.

ditto.... got a buddy and a pretty flat road in the middle of nowhere (15 miles to the closest town... *population of town ~4000 people)

he was 6 miles ahead of me and i went for it. 160+ no shakes or anything. The front end seemed a bit light though.

Had to do it once. Will i ever do it again, maybe... but not anytime soon, and nowhere near any populated areas.
My 2011 car has seen 150mph a few times and the stock hood is still intact.:winks

Do V6's even do 85? J/K Christ, he said 85, not 185. Who's to say he wasn't on a freeway? You're a cop? Don't they require basic English skills. BS.

Let me get this escalated for you, emvici. PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, best daytime number, and the concern your vehicle is having so I can forward it to the customer service manager for your area.

I have this same problem. Did you ever get it resolved? I'm thinking the dealer will try to blame my CAI and tell me to take a short walk off a long pier
Yes with an aftermarket cold air intake you have changed the airflow under the hood and created additional uplift forces on the top of your hood, increased negative downward pressures on the bottom section of the hood, and wind turbulence. So Ford will deny any repairs to the hood under warranty. Just kidding.

If there is a structural issue with the hood or the connections of the hinges and latches Ford will take care of it for you. There was a recall on my 94 mustang gt with an issue of the top and bottom sections of the hood separating and it required some adhesive modifications if I remember correctly. Adding aftermarket hood pins might make you more confident the hood won't fly off completely but your vision might be hampered at high speeds.
My stock hood never shook at 140 mph, and my new cervinis cobra r hood doesnt shake either. But if yours does adjust the rubber bumpers on top of the radiator cover a turn up to create greater resistance when you hood is shut, that should fix it.
I had an Integra that would whistle when it went over 90...I was glad when I also figured it would leak when it rained real hard = bad windshield seal. I imagined going to the dealer and telling them the 90+ symptom and their reaction.
