·Road paint on car
I was blocks from home when I encounter a traffic back up.
It is rare to ever see that near me as I live in a little town on a "finger" that sticks out into Puget Sound, no real traffic.
I pop over the divider to get a peeksy, "should I turn around and go the back way?", when we start to move. I roll by the hub bub, it's a yellow line paint truck.
I KNOW by the truck in front of me with the yellow wheels, mine must look no different.
I get home and see the carnage. All drivers side screaming yellow mod. :sosad:
My bad for the peeksy, A "WET PAINT" sign would have been kind.
It took 3 hours to get her detailed again.
Good thing I had Zaino, the yellow paint came right off my Redfire paint.
I hope nobody has to go through this, especially in a 2005 Pony.
:sosad: :sosad: :sosad: :sosad:
IF it does happen, get home IMMEDIATELY. Or go buy some cleaners asap.
Paint- denaturized alchohol (must have for all gleamers, careful do NOT get it on plastic).
Fender wells- armorall or any other "wet" slick agent to loosen up road paint (I dont use armorall for anything else, had it from long ago). Lots of fingernail scratching. :eyebulge:
Tire- Goof Off (carefull, do not get it on paint).
After I crawled into the fenderwells and worked for an hour, I washed car well, and re-Zainoed immediatly (the DN alchohol strips to clearcoat).
All told, 3 hours later, only visible evidence is in the treads of tires (mainly the front), I have some yellow, I know will come off during normal driving.
Cleaning the back tires off was fun, screeetch!
Sigh....
