Hose on pcv valve problem

1984 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Black_35th
Hey guys just wanted a little info. I recently noticed the hose that connects to the pcv valve has been sucked flat when the car is running and my rpms have been at 1000 at idle (running kinda wierd). Has anybody had this problem? I just replaced the valve today thought that was the problem but no dice. Any suggestions?

Steps to take.

Carefully check all of your vacuum lines including the small red ones for any breakage and check the connections. With the pvc hose sucked shut it will not have any effect on rpm range - I'd still fix or eliminate it though.

If this fails the computer may need to be reset. Unplug the battery for 30 minutes/plug back in and then let your engine idle for about 10 minutes.

If this fails clean out the MAF sensor with electrical cleaner.

If that fails replace the IAC valve.

-this is all assuming you have no aftermarket tune on your car.
Had the same problem. It creates a vacuum problem. Makes the car run horrible. Ford has an updated PCV tube and hose assembly. Replaced with that and took care of problem.
How much was the kit? Do you have a part #? Thanks

Weird. Maybe I'm wrong. The last 2 Mustangs I had I deleted the whole pcv system with a breather and rubber cap and had no change in idle.
