Steps to take.
Carefully check all of your vacuum lines including the small red ones for any breakage and check the connections. With the pvc hose sucked shut it will not have any effect on rpm range - I'd still fix or eliminate it though.
If this fails the computer may need to be reset. Unplug the battery for 30 minutes/plug back in and then let your engine idle for about 10 minutes.
If this fails clean out the MAF sensor with electrical cleaner.
If that fails replace the IAC valve.
-this is all assuming you have no aftermarket tune on your car.
