my apologies for starting a whole nother topic, but i figured it wasnt entirely relevant to my last one.

ive been stripping down the interior, but im stuck at the steering column. i figured itd be easier to just swap the columns than to replace all the plastic, steering wheel, wiring and whatnot from wheel to wheel.

so i got the 4 nuts off from underneath the column, and i can drop it down, but how exactly do i get it out? it looked like the shaft came apart but that doesnt seem to be the case :/
it appears to come apart in the engine bay shortly after the shaft comes in, but im not sure if its a good idea to disconnect it there and take that plate that surrounds it out of the car.

ive been looking everywhere online but i cant find the info im looking for. have any of you guys taken the entire column out before? or know how?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Auto parts stores have repair books for specific models. That might be the best way to go. Did you do the AFM search? Good luck.
