My 66 coupe had ac at one time, because i found an ac radiator infron of the engine radiator, there is a bracket near the fan belt that looks like it once held an ac booster, and i found another ac piece in the trunk (some kind of radiator--about 8 inches long). My question is -- How do I know if this was aftermarket ac or factory ac?

If I'm not mistaken, back in 65 & 66, A/C was a dealer installed option. If you ordered the car with A/C, before you picked it up the dealer put it in. They also stocked the units as a regular course of business. Customers would return 1 or 2 years later and say it's too hot, I want A/C. The dealer was more then happy to do it for them.

I don't know if you will be able to tell from the condensor on the front or the evaporator in the trunk if it's original unless you have Ford part #'s stamped on them. The compressor usually had a Ford tag. The under dash unit had the Ford Logo. Here's some pics of an original A/C unit and set up.
