No special tools though you may need some offset socket extensions to reach everything. No tune is required.
Shouldnt be that big of a deal. It will be a pain dont get me wrong but a full saturday and a buddy to help. You guys can get them instaled no problem
A supply of band-aids would also be a good idea. :)
charge em $200, thats a deal for him, if you finish in 4 hours which is how long mine took then your making $50 an hour as opposed to the shops around here that charge $90 an hour.

You might take 8 hours though, it all depends on how tool savvy you are
Bolts/ studs

I have the JBA shorties. The instructions tell you to remove the studs from the head and install the headers with the included bolts. This requires and inverted torx socket (I don't know the size.) I ended up leaving the studs on figuring they would be stronger, but that made the headers a little harder to wiggle into place and made tightening a few of the nuts frustrating (one flat at a time.) You will need some sort of 1 1/16" wrench to get the EGR tube off. A crow's foot is helpful. I didn't have one, so I removed the manifold with the EGR tube on. Getting it back on was tough without the crow's foot. You'll need two people to install the header to cat pipe bolts/ nuts. I did it alone, but it required a lot of fooling around with extra long extensions and bracing open end wrenches against various places.

I put the JBA's on myself,in a half day,,alone. I thought it was pretty easy. I dont have a lot of experience but enough to do most things.I put my xcharger on,alone.
with the headers I found it much easier to instal them on the original studs. Keep everything loose till all are hooked up. On the exhaust flange I found it easier to put the bolt head on top, threaded end through the flange. It was easier for me to tighten things up that way. A 1 1/16 crow foot is a big help but you can do it with an open end wrench same size. I couldnt find a crowsfoot till I was all done and they are expensive.
I think that charging a friend $200 is pretty steep. A good dinner would be my fee. But thats just me

tht is a definite. i musta cut up a whole hands worth from reaching in small places, etc
i, too put in my own shorties. i put em on not too long after my 17th bday (in september) and it took me bout 6 hours to do myself, with a lil help from my uncle who provided the tools to remove the studs
thanks for all the info guys. sorry i hate working on newer cars its a hassle

This requires and inverted torx socket for the studs i tyd to put them in with the same ones in but they would not sty fat so i had to take the studs out oh and a lift would help a lot

My bad... Different than on the GT.
You'll Need an E7 Female Torx socket. Took me forever to find one. Try Napa. I just got a set of jba shorty headers. Imma try and install em myself with a friend. The shop wanted to charge $600

And if you like working on cars, dont charge your friend.
