Hey guys, Im embarking on a major project, and Im wondering if anyone has any data on how high a stock block and internals will rev before the main caps or the wrist pins or whatever let go? From what i understand being a motor with a relatively short stroke, the motor should actually rev pretty high, but the heads and intake seem to be designed with long runners and soft springs for good low end torque. The cam is also obviously designed for end power, but we are looking at making a really high revving engine. We have access to a foundry and tons of tools so we may end up attempting to cast our own intake/heads if we have too, so that is really not an issue. thats why I am attempting to figure out how high the short block will spin, but so far i have had no luck at all. I have seen cams from comp cams which make power up to 7200 rpm, so im assuming the engine should be good to at least 8000, but just checking with you guys thanks
