Anybody have any first hand experience with the Steeda Cold air induction. I am thinking of getting the SCT and Steeda PKG?

Hey BMAZZ007, this is the exact set-up I am going with next week. The parts should be in next week and installed on Monday, 12 July. I will let you know once I compare the baseline numbers with the upgrades. I am going with the Steeda ProFlow CAI, SCT X3 Custom Tune by JMS Performance and MagnaFlow Street Series Cat-Back X-Pipe and mufflers. I think this will be an 'awesome' combo. I will keep you updated. I just love those 3.73 gears along with the MT-82 Getrag.

I pulled 6,000 RPM's today in second with the traction control on and the front end seemed like it wanted to lift off the ground! I am so very impressed with this new 'Stang...as I thought I would be stepping down coming from a 540 hp 2010 Shelby GT500 but this new 2011 5.0 is just as fast and handles much better than the 2010 Shelby I guarantee that...so much better balanced and out-handles the pre-2011 Shelby's for sure! I will be able to beat the 2010 Shelby through the quarter with this tune and CAI for sure. I can't wait! I will keep you updated on my impressions and experiences. Good luck to you and please keep your fellow Mustang brethren updated. Take care, Jack :bigthumbsup
Honestly, I dont see any real difference between the stock intake and Steeda's. They pull air from the same place, maintain the PCV and DET connections, follow the exact same path, etc. Yeah, the box is shiny and the filter is better. But if I am going to spend $400, it better be more than a stock plastic tube replacement and a cone filter. Just my $.02.

Wait for JLT and get one painted to match your car or something.
Great minds think alike:bigthumbsup I've ordered the Steeda CAI/SCT combo and also Magnaflow street series catback along with Magnaflow X-pipe W/highflow cats. Now here is the problem,

I dont quite have my car yet because my lazy dealer could'nt get it to me before the 4th of July. It's been here in Cali since Thursday and I talked to the transport co. and they said they would deliver it Fri or Sat.I told my dealer this on Thursday and they have sat on their thumbs and made excuses.

Now I will not have my car for the 4th.The other issue thats a little funny is my exhaust came on Thursday but when I opened the box I discovered that they sent me a system for a Toyota Tundra truck.

Now I have to wait for Fedex to pick it up and ship back to magnafow.I need to call steeda to check the status of my order as It's been a week or so now. It's not a big deal but I really want to get everything installed and set up so I can see the difference VS stock.

I'll be sure to post pics and vids once I get my car and all of my parts.I've been doing this stuff for a long time and It's all about combining the right parts that work togeather to make power.

I plan on getting a custom tune later but I will run the Steeda tune first and see how it performs.Good luck guys and I'll keep a eye on this thread.

Awesome cant wait to see your results I am doing the same thing still waiting for mine. I may do the Borla ATAK mufflers still havnt made up my mind...:D
I might Go with Evolution performance on my tuning haven't decided that yet either.
Actually I Work for a dealer in sales and leasing there is a little hold up on the cars we cant get a straight answer either they seam to be held up at the port.
I picked my car up yesterday and all I can say is Wow!!!!!! this is my third Mustang, the last being a 89 GT with 495hp 347 and this car feels every bit as fast if not faster. After driving my new GT with 3.73's I have decided that the CAI,tune and exhaust will be the only mods I'll need in my old age of 46years:bigthumbsup

now if I can just install this Toyota Tundra exhaust they sent me:D

When will Steeda offer the CAI for an automatic?
Also, what is the CFM on the Steeda?

The C&L is stated below:
The original factory assembly on the new "5.0" flows 748 CFM, while the new replacement upgrade from C&L flows 1,096 CFM in a "no tune" required configuration and 1,112 CFM with tuning required.
Hey BMAZZ007 & Zilla8, it sounds like we pretty much know what we think will produce the best results and the "best performance bang-for-the-buck". I completely agree with you Zilla8 that the tune, CAI and exhaust is enough for the street in terms of enough seat of the pants power and the crisp, responsive in your face power on demand through five gears. I agree BMAZZ007 the tune from Evolution Performance may be the best tune out there right now although I am going to have my local tuner (JMS Chip) work their magic with a custom SCT X3 tune. I plan to have them raise the rev limiter to around 7,300 RPM's, take off the top-speed limitations, maybe play with the fuel-air mixture, and give it an aggressive 93 octane tune and hopefully tune that skip-shift out as well. LOL

Even in completely stock form (with the exception of the K&N drop-in filter without tune) this 'Stang with 3.73's and 6 spd manual pulls hard enough where I do not have to downshift...a first for me...always had to downshift into fourth to get back into the power band and raise the rev's. Not so for this car...I am so VERY impressed with this car...this new 2011 Mustang is the GREATEST :yup: car I have EVER owned in my entire life! This includes three late model Shelby GT500's, a 2009 Bullitt Mustang and my 1990 Mustang GT 5.0.

I absolutely admire Ford for their brilliant world-class engineering, research and development achievements and accomlishments of this new 2011 'Stang. These are the ONLY upgrades I plan to do and I truly believe this particular set-up with tune, exhaust and CAI is enough to best most cars on the road today that's for sure. Good luck with your mod's and please post pics and videos as you have time.

BTW Zilla8, I will turn 46 in two months and I feel where you are coming from and totally agree with you these few mods will be enough for me as well...plenty enough challenge to stay out of trouble for me. Also Zilla8 god luck with getting the "correct" exhaust system for your 'Stang as I am truly sorry they messed your order up wit the Tundra. I know it will work our for you though! :bigthumbsup

I will post pics but won't be able to do the vids since I own an antique cell phone that is only able to make calls. Take care, good luck and please keep sharing your experiences, impressions and experiences as I am taking notes from you guys who have all the experience! Jack :bigthumbsup
Guys I cant believe how much fun this is for me.I've been racing and moding cars for the past 30 years and here I am now with a new factory hotrod.

whats most impressive about this car is the smooth deceptive power of this new 5.0 mill. With my old fox 5.0 cars I had to make power with ported heads, cams, intakes and it was'nt cheap.I can just do a tune,CAI,exhaust with this car and it will fly.

I'm going to visit several of the best shops here on the westcoast
ST motorsports,GTR,Racers edge in Downey CA and decide on who I want to go with for my custom dyno tune. This is just to much fun:rollgrin:

I'll keep you guys posted as things progress.I'm not pussyfooting with this baby,I'm driving it like I normally drive and it's responding nicely.I hit the canyons yesterday and it handled like a slot car compared to my previous Mustangs.
I completely agree with you Zilla8! I wish I had some canyons and twisties to run it on but I will take your word for it! This new 11 'Stang 5.0 totally ROCKS! I agree the Fox cars were/are certainly costly to build to go fst over the entire power band...unlike the new 5.0 mod motor with TI-VCT and four cams! This motor should win the "MOTOR OF THE DECADE" award! It's really that good! It is absolutely deceptively fast and pulls hard through five gears I NEVER thought I would be this impressed with her so far she has exceeded my expectations for sure! Good luck with your tuners and at least you have a few choices that's always a good thing! Take care and good luck to you! Jack :bigthumbsup
I am with you guys I am 45 and Had my days of the 1970 1/5 Z28s With a 427, Dominator Intake I though those days were over. My last hot rod was a 1989 5.0 LX with 355s underdrives mas airflow flowmaster 2 chamber was fun, and it was when I was 25. Now that I am 45 I cant believe its all coming back to me I feel 20 years younger. My wife says its a midlife thing i say its just boys with there toys. To top all this off I work in sales for a ford dealership and i got a great discount but we haven't gotten any in for me to drive yet.We did get 1 and it was for consumer reports Magazine red convertable auto it was paid for in full over the phone so no one was able to drive it. It had to have no more then 10 miles on t when they picked it up. We do have a gt coupe do in any day with the 355s and I will give that a drive that's for sure!! I am glad there are some of you here in the same boat i am in same age , I am also interested in the fact we are doing about the same mods..Should be fun!!:yup::laughlitt
45 is the new 25:kooky: I'm having the time of my life with this new Mustang.I've got all my mods installed and man o man is this baby fast.

I'm back to doing something I really love, driving a Mustang and meeting others who share the passion.

I'm still working on getting a video of my car with the new Exhaust and I will post it when I get it done.
I have not been this excited about getting a car in years Is this a sickness?? LOL
