How much are the stock Pirelli tires worth?

Mods: I'm not entirely sure as to where to put this, so if I put this in the wrong section, my apologies.

I have the 4 stock 255/55/17 Pirelli P Zero tires that came off my Mustang. I purchased new wheels and tires shortly after the car rolled over to 10,000 miles, so the Pirellis have the majority of their tread life left. All 4 of them are in extremely good condition. I have been cleaning them like I would if they were still on my car, so they still look pretty new.

I want to sell them after I get them removed from the wheels, but I'm unsure as to how much to ask for them. I don't want to be unreasonable, but I'd like to get what I can out of them without ripping anyone off, haha!

So, do any of you who have sold your tires or know anything about this have any clue as to an asking price? Thanks in advance for any help any of you can offer. :)

This isn't a "for sale" thread. This is just a thread for me to ask how much I could possibly ask for these tires.

The tires alone aren't worth much used. Maybe $300. You see brand new take-offs on ebay (tires and wheels with 0 miles) go for around $600. My tires were shot when I sold my wheels. They had about 40,000 mi on them, silver fan wheels. I got $350 out of em on craigslist.
$250. You could probably get the tires new for $500 and you put 10K on them.

I sure can't get them for $500, at least not the last time I looked. I can get superior tires for $500, though.

Personally, $250 would be the max I'd pay for used Pirelli's. I think $200 would be my limit for tires with 10,000 miles on them.

You got $350 out of the wheels then, right? Being as how your tires were shot.

You're just about right. I've seen a few websites where the tires are anywhere from $130-$160 brand new. I'm sure I could find them a little cheaper if I looked around more.

Both of you are in the ballpark of what I was thinking. I wasn't going to go higher than $300. I'll see what everyone else says.

To be brutally honest, the best way to get rid of the tires and get a few more $ is to sell them with the wheels. Guys looking for these wheels probably own older mustangs and are looking for an upgrade and will need the tires too. Put 'em on craigslist, I bet you get calls within a day. Or even better yet...put em on your LX if they have the stockers.
50.00 a tire

Used tire - 50.00 a tire, totaling 200.00, there are deals all over the web for 600.00 for 4 new ones. Take 200.00 and some new seat belt pads.:bigthumbsup

I know, but I don't want to sell the wheels, only the tires. They can find the wheels somewhere else. I'm not even going to say these came off a Mustang.

When I get my money from the tires, it's going straight into my bank account to pay off stuff I've gotten for it, haha!
If you are going to seperate the tires from the rims, I wouldn't mention they came off a Mustang either.
I think you are stating the wrong size.

Original tires were 235 x 55 x 17

Prices for Pirelli P Zero in that size are all over the map. From 109 dollars each to 155 dollars each.

When I priced them about two years ago they were as low as $67. new each !

I think a reasonable ASKING price for 4 tires used (without wheels) would be about $200.

And if you drive like I do, the one that came off the right rear has the least tread remaining.

And the front tires will be worn on the inside edges more than the outside edges.
Tread depth they may have, but they're still 5 year old rubber, and as such wouldn't be worth much to me.

I'm running around on my 5yo 20k mile Pirellis, and while the tread depth is fine, they've definitely seen softer days.

Nope. I don't want people to think these tires have had the rubber burned off of them, haha!

I know I put the wrong size. I didn't get a chance to change it yesterday by the time I realized it.

I drove my car like a grandma and still do. Like I said, all the tires are in extremely good condition.

5 years old or not; tires with more tread depth will gain more than tires with no tread. Of course they're not brand new. People looking on CL for stuff most likely aren't looking for brand new tires. They're going to look somewhere else for that.
