How big is a "small amp"?

It may not be a good idea with your amp.
Ya I would agree with shinerstang on this one. A cap would be a good idea with that big of an amp anyway. If you had any problems I would go with a bigger alternator to. I had a 1000 watt amp in my 95 GT with 2 10"s and had to run a bigger alternator, and I upgraded my battery. The cap would deffinatly help because your stereo doesn't always use that much power and the cap would store the extra power till needed. I had problems with my interior lights dimming every time the subs would hit hard. After I put the cap in that problem went away.

By the way how much of a HP gain do you get from underdrive pulleys? I don't have any subs to worry about. I have a vert, not much room for big a$$ speakers.
