HP estimate anyone?

925 Views 16 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  chattanooga
I just bought a 92 Coupe and it has allot of work done to it. It pulls HARD every gear the problem is I live in a small town and have no way to get it on a dyno to see what kind of numbers it would put down. I attached a pic and the Mods done to it does anyone have a slight estimate on what it MIGHT have for HP? Thank Guys. Feel free to comment on my car also, she's a looker lol.

Maybe 250-265rwhp

Edit: I missed the heads being edelbrock. So I say 280-290
well its kinda hard to read but the 5.0 came stock with about 225 to 245 hp... with what i can see maybe 340. can you get something better so we can see your mods?

Lol sure thing I pulled a 12.44 1/4 and it wasn't with 265hp....

lol @ u

ive seen TON of stock 5.0s dynod
ive never seen a stock one over 180hp to the wheels, most are 160-175 to the wheels stock

i would agree on the 265 to the wheels statement.. :bigthumbsup :gringreen

he will have a lot more torque though, and thats where you feel the power

When you click on the image, and it pops up, click on it again. Show up different, then click it again and it should zoom in. And I dont think 340rwhp. Unless you talking Flywheel power.

I edited my first post. Missed the Heads in the picture.

yeah that helped. im the dumba** now for thinkin i saw somethin else. lol yeah id say about 280 though

speed, weight of car, and 60 time

It will take 328.53 RWHP with a race weigh of3200 pounds to go 12.44 ......:headscratch:

unless that car is gutted or being being sprayed

ref reaching for the flag......:scratchchin.

that is a 280 max at the wheel combo......

But it is a nice looking car......

im with you.. 280 MAX!!!!

like all these people saying they have all motor 400hp 302 blocks that run 13s..

if you have 400hp to the wheels runnin 14s, theres something wrong with your blinker fluid ya know :gringreen
OK for a comparo Battler dyno'd his car a couple of months ago. Here is his combo.

Stock 180,000 bottom end
TFS heads
Holley systemax II intake
70mm throttle body
C&L 73mm MAF
24# injectors
E303 cam
3.73 gears
unequal length shorty headers
Bassani 2½" X-pipe w/cats
Flowmaster 2½" cat back
Summit ignition box
Accel coil
stock dist

I wanna say he came out of the dyno with 283 or 284 RWHP with no tuning.

Mind you this is just above sea level here in CA. Between 50-120 ft.
400 hp in the 13.s! OMG thats insane! I mean really 400hp in a 3100 pound car with gears are you kidding! An older Viper had 400hp and was deep in the 12's stock with TALL gears guys! Someone shed some light. Give our Foxes a little more credit.

I live in far west Canada best HP conditions anywhere. I will post a Vid next time I hit the track. I'm not some chump thinking my car is fast. This is my 4th Fox so I'm no noob to them.
i would say with the combo that you have and the location that your in 280 is a safe bet. with ported and polished heads mabye 300. but youdont want to put to much to that 5.0 block or the webbing starts to crack. thats why i went with the 351 swap. remember THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT.

FYI ......

Stock Block is good for 500 HP
