Today I installed my Hurst Short throw shifter, ordered from Brenspeed. Great company by the way.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the help from the website clarifying which way the long part of the shift assembly went. The hurst manual on page 1 said Drivers side, and Page 3 said Passenger side, totally contradicting itself.

So for anyone installing it themselves, or thinking of it, I have almost zero hands on experience doing much with cars and I was able to complete it in about an hour and a half (not including time to jack up the car).

Tools needed were a 13mm socket (deep works best) a 10mm socket (deep again) and a 10mm wrench. I used a 10mm Gearwrench for the front bolt to the transmission, I dont see how any kind of socket would fit in the small space.

Any questions let me know, I can give good pictures that I took!!

At first, I was nervous. I took it for a test drive and thought I might get tired of the notch like shift,

But.... After today of driving it all day, I LOVE it! great investment and I really like the white retro style ball it comes with.

Im suprised I already got a comment at the light from a guy in a truck he must have seen it because he said nice retro touch with the hurst ball.

I like the notchy feel to the shifter, but not to crazy with the white retro knob, I switch it with a black knob which goes better with my black interior.

I got the Hurst pistol grip on mine right now... Kinda sucks banging into 3rd gear because you can miss the gate.

But I'm probably going to swap back to the hurst ball while I'm at home ;)

I did the same exact thing.
I had a chrome T handle for awhile, but I couldn't get it positioned the way I liked it so I went with the black ball.

The Hurst rules! The look, the feel, and it's priced right.
Hey Partsbill, who made your shifter boot bezel? I like the clean look.

it's the Bullitt shifter boot and bezel assy, I bought it before Ford jacked the price up to $191.98

No wonder I like it! It's expensive! I'll keep looking.

Did you order the black Hurst ball directly from Hurst?
