One question in particular:

Is this something that can be done at home? My service manual states that I need Vehicle Communications Module and Integrated Diagnostic System software for the install. BUT...my service manual is not official Ford documentation, just an E-bay copy of it.

I don't want to believe that this is needed, but my searches online don't seem to give anything 100% conclusive. A Reddit post mentions that there were misfires without these, but Youtube videos don't seem to mention them.

It sure seems like the clutch replacement should be as straightforward as any other vehicle I've done in the past, but I don't want to get elbows deep into a clutch job and find out that it's a dealer-only replacement.

Anyone here done one and have first hand info? Or: is there a consumer friendly version of the called out module and software that I should have?
