I need a fiberglass hood for a 1987-1993 Mustang coupe; cervinis or trufiber?

Ive been looking around for prices and the cervinis are about $200 more than the trufiber hoods. Ive heard a lot of good things about cervinis and mixed opinions on trufiber. But im really tight on cash and the paint prep isnt an issue cuz i have a garage, the supplies, and i am somewhat auto body saavy. So pls post your experience with either trufiber or cervinis and any pics to back up your opinion would be greatly appreciated thanks

i think its all luck..as you know every car is different...

ive seen cervini hoods fit like doo doo,and cheapo no-namers fit perfect

on the other hand, ive seen cervini stuff look beautiful, and cheapo stuff look like crap too..

sorry not very helpful, but again, you may or may not have some massaging and fender adjusting to do,whatever the brand

unless you get a hood that is actually tweaked, you can usually make them fit fairly easily. with mine (I belive it's Cervini's), I had to adjust the hood on the hinges, then the hinges on the car, then the latch on the car. After a little while, it looked pretty good without any major work. That may have been because it is a high quality hood, but I can imagine with the fact that all the mounting hardware is adjustable, any decent hood could be put on without too much trouble.

What really counts is if the underside of the Trufiber is actually finished. Cervinis is finished on the underside and that's part of the cost. You don't want a hood that isn't finished because it'll shake/shimmy/wave like the ocean when you're at speed.

Every Cervinis part I've seen has fit perfectly without any major work at all. Just scuff it, prime and paint. I'm not familiar with Trufiber personally, I can only vouch for Cervinis.

I will say don't let price be your actual deciding factor. If the budget is tight, wait for another payday or two and get the best thing. When buying fiberglass, you buy cheap you get cheap.

Well if finish is no factor then go cheap but beware if y ou do decide to finish it will costs more than $200 to fix a crappy job. Why not find a used one for the price of the cheap one.
I got mine used for $200. The whole hood is finished and the bottom is structurally complete, that's why I think it is Cervinis. Post wanted adds online, or wherever you can for a fiberglass hood, and see if you get replies. I posted a wanted flier at my school and got a reply that night from the guy I bought mine from.

I couldn't be any happier with my Cervinis hood! Fit like a glove, needed none to little prep work and looks magnificent.
