Neither, in my opinion. The so-called performance chips for the Fox just advanced timing a bit or so I've heard. Same thing you can do at the distributor.
But, I've got a Hypertech chip for a '91 manual that I removed out of my car if you're still dead set on it.
Yeah I got a hypertech about 10 years ago and it was a total waste of $$. I didnt pick up anything on the 1/4 mile at all. Id put the $ you were going to spend on the chip toward a real performance mod
Thanks gents.....Well out of curiosity, I took a look at the computer and there just happened to be a Superchips chip on it....it has a label inside with a part number and "Kenne Bell" on it....Im not sure what that means...haha
ok cool thanks. im gonna try that because its been having trouble staying on when its cold.....im thinking it might be too much cam......starving for air or too much air.....any suggestions???
Are you running 12* with the chip cause if that chip said KB on it it could've been for a supercharged application in which the timing could have been retarded some for boost.
the motor is only going to rev so high with stock heads and intake..hopefully the swapped the stock valve springs out for ones that match the cam when they put the cam in,or else your valves will probably float @ like 5k rpm lol
Well i took the chip and it actually feels like I lost a lil top end....lol but it does sound like they did a legit cam swap with lifters and valve springs, so thats a plus....im looking at a cobra intake for it.....would it be best to do the 24# injectors along with it?
