I got to make 4 passes.

the 1st was a 13.91
the 2nd was a 14.04 (forgot to turn-off traction control)
the 3rd was a 13.71 at a little over 107 mph
the 4th was a 13.52 at 107 plus.

all runs (even the 2nd) was traction limited with lots of wheel hop at the top of 1st, and, 2nd wheel hopped all the way to the top.

I had a great time.

All kinds of other racers came over to look at the car.
And all were positive comments.

I love this car!!

oh and it has 3148 miles on it now, lol

awesome!!!

in the street class there were several ls-1 camaros and trans-ams.
Also lots of Mustangs. Most of the Mustangs were 2003 or newer. There was a GT500 '11. He ran 12.22 with me on the 1st pass.
There was a Mitsubishi something and an SS Cobalt even.

I might should say my car is a 6M 3.73 brembo car.

And your right I do need traction, BAD!!!!!!!!!!

This was a grudge night/practice night.

And on the 13.52 my 60ft was 2.05.

I think on the stock pirelli's I can click off a 1.9 60 ft anda 13.20.

Plus my shifts need practice too.

I am shifting at 6500 rpm and barking 3rd and 4th.

Hmm, is that rubber I smell!!!!!!?

Are these 5.0's capable of breaking into the 12's with a totally stock car ? No offense to the OP but aren't those times kind of slow for a 5.0 ? I say "slow" because the only other time I know about is the Motor Trend test .
I saw that Motor Trend got their test car 5.0 to run 12.70 .Was that a fluke, good driving , or just a factory tweaked ringer ?

The fastest posted 1/4 mile time was a (questionable) 12.203 @ 116mph. The fastest time I saw in person was a 12.419 @ 117. That was in perfect air and perfect track prep, 6M with 3.55 gears.

The timeslip shows my 12.19 with a CAI and tune, and some suspension stuff. He was bone stock with temp tags and something like 30 or 70 miles on the clock.

My mph was lower as I was hitting the rev limiter with my 3.73 gears.

Thanks for posting that . 12.4 totally stock is smoking fast.
I saw a test in an old 1970 Car And Driver or Road And Track where they were testing the new 1970 Challenger with a 440-six pack .
The best it did was 13.23 .Back then that was considered fast .
Another one was a 1969 GTX with a 440-4 that ran a 13.5 .
I'm from that time frame (early to mid 70's actually) so I remember those cars .
I had a 1969 Super Bee with a 440-six pack, auto with 411 gears and I can say for sure my 5.0 GT would eat it up .

Man, I wish I lived close to a strip. Good fun in my younger days. Even if you're not running just the smells alone give me the high. Cordite on the gun range does the same thing for me...:winks

:bigthumbsupTimes are not bad for your first time out and in the heat.

I also have a 3.73 brembo car that used to wheel hop bad on the street. I installed a Roush upper control arm and now have zero hop!

With my stock tires I don't "hook up" until part way into 4th gear. Until then I'm breaking loose on each shift. TOO MUCH POWER! :kooky:
