Can anyone identify this engine (260cu or 289cu)? It has a manual gearbox. All i have is these two photos.

I think it is a 260cu. How good is this engine in 65 Mustang? I have a chance to buy this car, but i'm not sure about the engine power, sound and how does it shift (manual gearbox).
