96 mustang gt 5speed. Sometimes when sitting at idle with the heat on the rpm's will drop and power supply seems to drop and there's a rattleing that sounds like a rattle you get from clutch chatter. Don't know what it is?

Sounds like your heater could be putting A strain on your alternator. Have it running put the heat on & see if the noise is coming from the heater motor or the alternator. This could be as simple as A belt, but your first step would be to find out where the noise is coming from. If you have under drive pulleys your alternator may not be spinning fast enough @ idle to support the extra current draw from the fan motor. Does your car surge @ idle (RPM's up & down) this could also be the problem. Just A few things to ck good luck.
