No, you don't HAVE to, as the V8 will fit. When I was fixing up the v8 66 I have, I decided to first replace the whole suspension. It was at that point that I found out my car, a V8 model, had a 6 cylinder pitman arm/draglink/tie rods. I replaced them anyway, with the v8 parts.
