I'm getting a bonus check for 2000 this month and I'm I'm wanting to get opinions on how to spend it. Car already has sfc, pullies, cold air, gt40 intake, explorer tb, sn95 maf, mac long tubes etc. So I'm thinking either afr 165s and 1.7 rr or gt40 heads and nitrous. I'm leaning the nitrous route because I have bits and pieces from another kit, plus it should be cheaper... allowing me to get slicks. A used super/turbocharger kit wouldn't be out if I could source out the supporting mods cheap enough.

Ideas?

I'd have the intake ported (by a qualified shop) and invest in some heads. I have a higher opinion of Trick Flow 170cc TWs and they cost substantially less than AFR 165s, but that's just my $0.02.

Oh, I see you didn't mention gears. If you don't already have those, do them.

How about some rear end gears? Can't tell what you've got there unless I missed it.

People overlook that the Afrs come with better springs out of the box unless you buy the upgraded springs from trickleflow

I'd do heads and a cam and mail off the intake to Tmoss and have him port it.

Sorry the car already has 3.73 gears as well as drag springs. As for my choice of heads the afr's have better springs, and talking with a few people with each on their cars most prefer the afr over tfs.

Sharad I like your list the suspension parts listed will hopefully come before the check gets in.

The car will for now serve as a dd and a weekend drag car. Eventually I'll get cracking on the 408tt build

As for porting I'll probably tackle that myself. I still have my carbide burrs and have some experience using them on my cough* neon drag car* cough :bigthumbsup

You can very easily kick off a war saying such a thing on Mustang forums but I also like the AFR heads (and have a set about to go on my car).:bigthumbsup

Bealeton, now that's a name you don't see very often. I lived not far from the interection of Rt 29/17 in HS. Is Pete's Park & Eat Still there?

What size shot were you running through it? And what if anything was done to the head?
I just found my n2o solenoids and lines so all I need is a bottle and some accessories. Could still have enough to do gt40s and a cam too

I don't run nitrous (I'm a ProCharger guy), but a 125-shot is perfectly fine with a safe tune. You could even go higher, but if the longblock is stock, they like to start lifting the heads in the neighborhood of 400hp. (drain the overflow tank and make another pass :bigthumbsup)

Reminds me of this article I wrote a few years ago:
