I’m going INSANE! I can’t find a wiring diagram that encompasses the ignition switch (2007 GT) and where all the wires coming out of it go to, etc. I found a “part” of it in the instrument cluster diagram but that only covers the one wire in the ignition switch plug that effects the cluster (low voltage switched power).

There are other 12v switched “wires” coming out of that connector and I want to tap into the best one to run a few low voltage sources. I just don’t know what powers what (aside from the cluster) and would like to pick the best one.

Anyone know where I can find a wiring schematic of the ignition switch at> I checked the online service manual and for the life of me can’t find it.

Well, I figured it out. Behind the passenger side kick panel is a small fuse block with three unused receptacles. Two are switched, one is constant. I had to run to three places but I managed to get my hands on one of these without having to order it:
Mini ATM Fuse "ADD-A-CIRCUIT"

And I am soooooooo happy. No tapping into existing circuits/wires for me. That crap scares the he!! out of me. All I have to do now is run the wire about a foot up to where the airbag was and plug it into the distribution block I have set up to run all the crap I need switched.

So if you are looking for switched power for anything that doesn’t have a high amp load (which you should be using a relay for anyway) then everything you need is “pug in play”.:bigthumbsup

A bit late now since you’ve already taken care of your problem, but for reference the key switch wiring is located in the Power Distribution-SJB diagram. Third page on the right. Here’s the link:

Just be carefull pulling the power from the SJB. The SJB is low current (10 amp max) so don't fuse it any higher than that. The other thing and you may have already found this out; not all the fuse connections (circuits) are hot in the SJB...just because there is an empty place for a fuse doesn't mean there is power there......found that out the hard way.
I'm gonna run 10A fuses for sure. I think I will be good though. Nothing I am wiring in takes much more than a 12v signal.:bigthumbsup

If your car is a manual, another good place to get switched power and light switch controlled power is from the auto transmission shifter harness in the consol. Even if the car is a manual the plug for the shifter is still there and power can be pulled from it.:bigthumbsup[/quote]

If you've remove all your airbags, have you considered using those wires? They should already be fused and be a switched source. Just a thought, not sure why I didn't think about that earlier when mentioned where you have your controler placed. Must have been having a brain fart that day.
That's a good ideer! The plug for the PS airbag is right there where I need to pull power.

Won't work. The only time there is 12 volt at the air bag connectors is when the air bag is being deployed. The voltage for the air bag comes from the RCM. (Restraint Control Module) The RCM uses a very low voltage signal to check the components for self test but other than that the wires have no voltage.
Well, back to the fuse block on that side. No biggie.

I know about these bad sectors, I run into a lot of them ... they're called blonde moments, and if unfortunately, the data recovery function was lost in one of these bad sectors, you may be blonde for a long time.
