Installed CDC Agressive Chin Spoiler

3070 Views 25 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  speedytang
This weekend I finished up installing and painting my new CDC agressive chin spoiler. There's been some talk of how the agressive chin spoiler is similar to the classic chin spoiler. Unfortunately the pictures on the CDC website do not do justice to the agressive spoiler. Here are some pictures. It totally changes the look of the front end, for the better in my opinion. Much more than the classic chin spoiler.

Thanks. I got it at http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/catalog/itemdisplay/656.html for $225. That's the unpainted version because I didn't want a textured paint, I wanted it to match the rest of my car.
Looks nice. I've been trying to see what it would look like on a black mustang. Just might have to get one now!
I like it. I have the classic on my car. I whack it all the time since the car is lowered. How flexible is it?

It's made of eurathane so it's pretty flexible. To get it around the corners during installation you have to really flex it but it never feels like it would break, only flex more. It really lowers the appearance of the front end even though my suspension is stock. I was considering lowering the car by 1" but dang, then I'd only have about 4" clearance in front. I haven't whacked it yet, I have so far remembered it's there each time I've parked but I'm sure that day is coming.

You're right... The CDC pictures really leave a lot to be desired. I ordered the classic as a result. If I'd seen your pics first, I probably would have gone aggressive.

It never fails to amaze me how a company like CDC is smart enough to develop the awesome products they sell yet is not smart enough to put a photograph on their website that accurately represents the product.

From the CDC website you'd think the classic and agressive spoilers were nearly identical, which is not at all the reality of the two products.
That chin spoiler looks great!

Was the install pretty straightforward? Was any modification of the existing front end required?

If you look at the yellow Mustang in this link

http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/catalog/2005_2006_MUSTANG_COMPONENTS/CHIN_SPOILERS/

you'll notice the lower opening is completely unobstructed. You have to cut out the supports for the stock honeycomb grille piece, basically opening up the lower opening. You don't have to be a surgeon however, because the whole CDC chin sploiler just slides into the opening you just made and easily covers everything you cut. I used a reciprocating nose saw but you could easily do it with a $5 knife style hacksaw, anyone could do it. The procedure is certainly irreversible but why would you want to go back to stock? If you're a collector you wouldn't be making mods anyway. It took less than two hours to install and most of that was putting the car on jackstands (to make the work easier, you don't have to jack up to install).

I also painted it myself because CDC only offers unpainted and a "textured" black version. Well, I didn't like the sound of that so I did it myself over New Year's weekend.

Did you have it painted white or go with the black?
i went with the same one you did the agressive one....my car is also black it looks kickazz......i lowered it with the eibachs and man is the front low with that spoiler........it goes great with the factory panels on the sides....they should use your pics to advertise it looks awesome........the guy that did mine has a sixer with the non-agressive one and it looks good also.....i just wanted to get rid of the lower grille since i swapped the upper for the s.s. they didn't match at all.....
