Hey everyone....I just got quoted $1,200 from a Ford dealership to install cruise contol on my 2000 GT...Is it me or is that just CRAZY?:eyebulge:

Any suggestions as to where I may be able to get it done for a more reasonable price? I'm in Columbus Ohio....

Thanks!

Or install and aftermarket unit:

Thanks for the info, but a question or two...

If I get it at a junkyard, what would I need...?

I don't work on my car (don't know how and shouldn't use this car as a learning experience....) Have a guy in town who works on Mustangs so maybe he'll install it for me if I get all the parts.

It is a long list of parts, thats why Ford charges that much.
I dont know all the parts, will need a schematic, maybe someone in the forums has access to a manual.

As you can see in that link, there are mechanical, electrical and electronic parts needed.
The vaccum canister is one of the mech parts, you also have the throttle linkage, a bunch of vaccum hoses, the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, fuses and relays, the CC "brains", etc.
