Intermittend P0411 Problem

1162 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  StalkerStang
I have a 1999 3.8 with only 69000 miles. I am experiencing a P0411 code which seems to be a common problem. I took the car to a NAPA repair facility - they could not find anything wrong and reset the codes. I drove the care for over 300 miles before the code appeared again. My skill level in car repair is about 6 out of 10 so I need a little help. Can someone please tell me what to look for in this case? If the code reappeared immediately after being cleared it would be easier to diagnose. Thanks!

p0411 code

try changing the DPFE sensor and the rubber hoses that connect to it. the sensor looks like a little square box with 2 rubber hoses that connect to the egr tube that goes from the intake to the exhaust manifold.
Thanks for your suggestion - I will pick up the part and install it tomorrow and let you know if that resolves the problem.
Remember to use a Ford sensor on that...:bigthumbsup

Remember that the EVAP monitor is the last OBD2 monitor that will run, it has to be under specific conditions for that test to run, so those codes will appear last, especially if its only a small evap leak.
