my name is chris im 19 i drive a 95 mustang gt with the 5.0, it has flowmasters, cold air intake, gt-40 heads, and smog delete. in the near future i plan to put roller rockers, cam (maybe), upper/lower intake, throttle and other simple bolt ons.

also, quick question about the gt-40s, i know the gt40ps dont have the port in the back for the smog pump and the plugs are angled differently, however my gt40s dont have that port and the plugs are angled the same as stock but i had to switch to a different plug size. what im asking is did anybody else who did the swap have the same issues?

and, ive read on this site that when people are doing the rocker swap they are having to turn the cam so the lifters are off the lobe? when i did my head swap i just bolted the rockers down to 25lbs and the springs compressed themselves just fine. it runs great. so im thinking the same should apply to rollers right? i know this is a lot for a first post so thank you for reading and all replies are appreciates.

Welcome to the site!
I moved your thread to the 5.0 Tech section for better results.

I don't think ANY of the GT40 heads have the holes in the back of the heads for the smog pump... And I'm not sure how to help on the rockers, but someone will come in with a good answer soon.

Enjoy the site! :bigthumbsup

The stock camshaft is actually a pretty good piece, you may try just adding 1.7 roller rockers. I have a TFS Stage 1 cam right now with my setup, but there are probably better choices from Comp and Lunati.

Yep, my F3ZE-AA (GT40 non-P) heads use Autolite 764s while stock heads use 24s or 25s.

You may get lucky doing it your way, but it's probably not ideal. To correctly do this procedure, you need to turn the cylinder in question to TDC on its compression stroke. You can then measure how long of a pushrod you will need. To that number, add .020"-.060" to preload the lifter.
I hope this helped!
