My friend and I were at his dads race shop and across the road in his previous work shop is a 1965 mustang completely original with low miles and a classic barn find, it sat for a long time, anyways the owner paid 110$ for it for scrap metal price a few years back and forgot about it so I brought it up in a conversation and he said he would sell it for 3500$ it runs and drives but needs a fresh coat of paint and basic tune up, it has 289, 3speed and bench seats, is it worth 3500$ or would this be a good car to invest some money in? It's dark blue with black interior thanks for all replies in advance

any rust? I assume this is a coupe? If the body checks out pretty well, that is a fair price. However don't underestimate what a 'fresh coat of paint' will cost you.

Bench seat is a unique touch. Heed Lizer's words, paint is not cheap, search some of the discussions on the subject.
