Hate to sound like a total noob here, but is the addition of a boost gauge needed with a supercharger? Since the main way to change the pressure is in the size of the pulley, I wouldn't think it is, but I've never fiddled with F/I before...

If so, how is the experience of installing that?

It's not necessary, but it's cheap enough...really you should have a wide band air/fuel gauge and fuel pressure gauge as well, that way if something was to go critically wrong with the fuel system you would know it immediately and potentially save your engine from blowing up

15,000+ miles on my car with no extra gauges at all. I also street my car daily and it doesn't see the extreme demands of the 1/4 track ever

I don't use the gauges yet because I am tuned rather conservative, but I would definitely recommend A/F fuel pressure and boost gauges if you are racing or going over 10lbs of boost.

I have all three - wideband a/f, fuel pressure, and boost. Totally agree with 2Manystangs about why you should have the first two.

I honestly never even look at my boost gauge, but they are cheap as mentioned and very easy to connect.

No they are not needed. I very rarely look at mine. I pay more attention to my AIT gauge. If the temp gets to high I know my power is going to start dropping due to timming being pulled.

Again not one of the most important gauges to have, but it's another piece to the puzzle when you're trying to diagnose an issue. I'm not sure how many times people have experienced a supercharger not building any boost, but I'd imagine if something was wrong with the SC unit itself, you'd know with a boost gauge.

wideband a/f, fuel pressure, water temp, and boost seem to be the most popular.

I have my eye on my IAT and fuel pres readouts all the time.

I may have looked at my boost readout once or twice.

The most important

Air and Fuel for everyone I know. I think a follow on question would be the best place to mount your gauges on the dash , airduct or pillar mounted gauges? And why from the FI guys just for future reference.

If you have to put in gauges, go for the sleeper subtle look....like in my car

most important for me was the transmission oil temp (transbrake spikes)

If you are going for the “sleeper” look the pods that go in the air vents are pretty sweet. My next favorite is the 3 gauge pod that goes on the top/middle of the dash. Then a pillar mount (I think they obstruct my vision too much).

I went with the fairly stealthy look and used two units with LCD displays. One where the tach was (the LCD has a tach and shift lights) and one above the stereo. I can read out 8 data points at a time and can toggle/switch them up from a list I think 25+ long. Pics below.

Nice

Nice Squib I guess for me it's about function and being able to see it and use it to get the telemetry and not reck the ride.
I wonder how much a Heads Up display like the F16 would cost. LOL

I had a triple gauge pillar pod set up on the last GT it worked great and didn't obstruct my vision too bad. My current car has a double center dash mount and it is the perfect location.

I have a couple gauges that I've been wanting to relocate to the center dash, between the 2 vents.

What does it take to get that part off for drilling?

tia!
