its a bit less safe, yeah, but not if you drive responsibly.

for example if your driving down a wet road at say 50mph and you punch it WOT and manage to break traction, your likely to swing the rear around and spin out.
just drive decently at higher speeds when its raining/snowing whatever and you'll be fine.

like in the rain, i love it if u take it easy, traction, thats what its there for. some times i get rear end hop...but yea if u punch it ur gonna whip around!..... jsut drive careful, but i still reccomend a t loc

Not to ruin anyone's fun with the 8.8, but a 7.5 inch rear with a detroit trutrac is just as strong or stronger than a stock 8.8 correct? A built 7.5 inch rear will be just as strong as the stock 8.8 if not stronger and also as Shiner said, 35 pounds lighter.

^The 7.5" with a True trac has a stronger locker than the 8.8" does but the actual axles and such in the 7.5" is weaker than the 8.8". At least if I remember right... lmao

It kind of matters who does the work. A shop will charge you a nice amount to swap out 7.5 to 8.8 rear end but a shop will also charge you a nice amount to do the LSD swap on the 7.5.
