A Transgo Shift Kit® will actually lengthen the life of the transmission. Slow, lazy shifts increase fluid temperature. Quick, firm shifts keep fluid temperature lower. High fluid temperature = shorter transmission service life. Low fluid temperature = longer transmission service life.
Add a stacked-plate (not tube-and-fin) fluid cooler to the system. If you continue using the cooler in the radiator, put the stacked-plate cooler after the radiator.
And use Mercon V fluid.
