Some of you may have already seen this, but Chevy is releasing that HotWheels themed Camaro. Ok. Fine. Except its about 7 THOUSAND dollars. WHAT?

Almost 7K for factory options that are all cosmetic, and offer no performance upgrade? Wow. First Transformers, and now this. With the exception of hardcore collectors, I'd be interested to see who really decides to shell out cash for that.

Dont forget Shelby.

That is different than a factory available package for 7k...
I'm not a Camaro fan, but it looks nice in person.
To play devi's advocate, you CAN buy the $2,000 California Special pkg(I had one, so I can comment, lol), and some of the entry level packages from Roush and Shelby are not much more than cosmetic ad-ons.
OEM's will offer as much as they can, to keep us captive, and not lose us to the aftermarket.
;)
Everyone wants a little bigger slice of the pie!
:)
fair point. Especially since I suppose you guold go GT/CS with hood scoops and 1/4 windos, etc. I guess for me its that its a 7K package tied to toy company marketing. I was never a fan of the Bumblebee transformers kit either.

The only marketing packages I ever saw like that which I actually would have gone for where the Bullit and the Smokey and the Bandit set ups.
I saw a green one at the NY Auto Show last year.

Sounds like a fun toy then!
Nice wheels on the Hotwheels package but the HW logo is LAME. I try to like the Camaros, but they make it so hard. The Challenger on the other hand is big, heavy...but Awesome.
The Hot Wheels package is a big a bungle as the styling of the car itself.

Staggered tires wearing red lines, mag wheels, side pipes. Could have been quite hot despite the general overall poopiness of the car itself.
I actually like it.

As a one year option in conjunction with Hot Wheels 45th anniversary, I think its pretty damn clever.

Expect mint 2013 Hot Wheels Camaro's going for BIG money 30 years from now.

7 grand just for that cosmetic bs?

Sorry I'd rather buy a standard SS and throw on supercharger.

I don't get it with apperance mods and paying top dollar. Does not make the car faster and offers no substance performance wise. Just more add on crap for car makers to jack up the price.
I'm a fan of the blue. I honestly could have just as easily been a Camaro guy with two Camaros as opposed to a mustang guy with two mustangs, but both times it came down to price / performance. Just a way better bang for your buck.

It is fox new, of course it isn't real... LOL! Totally kidding.
I am pi**ed off at GM for two things.

1.) Taking my tax dollars and buildling the Volt!!

2.) Promising the Z28 but building the crappy ZL1
Good marketing strategy but not worth the money... or the cheap "hot wheels" badges all over.
Need one to be able to go here and hang out with a real Twin Mill.
