Hi everyone!

There is a 1973 mustang coupe i can bay, for 4000$ that has a rebuild 3speed manual, new disk and drum brakes and he says new supspension to. the problem is, it has a 6 cil 250ci, that is rebuildto, so they tel me, engine looks decent to'h, but i do'nt want a 6! asked the gy, i want it for 2000 whitout the engine, okay, so a 302 wil fit whitout major customizing, and what about a 351, both engines fit on the gearbox, no broblem there?

the one thing I'm cocernt is that it has a lot of rust, and interior needs some work to, baying a creat engine +body' paint and interior may cost a buck, is this worth doing, ore am i just beter of chearching for somthing ells? (whit in mind, let us say a rust bucket coupe from the 60's is around 7-8000$, and then you get an old crappy engine whit worn gearbox to71-2-3 stangs are pricey to)

Since you are in Belgium you should not get a rusted car. You will have better luck with a solid car and no engine as a starting point.

veel succes

I don't think it matters how cheap you can get it because
1. the drive train is not what you want so you will be replacing it
2. from your description, the rust problem will cost more to fix than buying a new engine
3. You're in Belgium and it costs more for the parts, engines are probably easier to find and make work.

So keep looking.

leuven hey, you must be a smart person then:shigrin sity of student's and college's :smartass:

now, he asks 4K i offered 2k via mail, asked to contact him, so 2K whitout engine (i don't want)

asked a specialist, all of the drivetrain, except for engine offcourse is same as 8cil's, same supspension and brakes, also gearbox and axle wil do, just drop in an 8 and go.

for parts, wel, do not cost that mutch, did a 71 , vintag: grande, deluxe (great options) whit a factory 351c 4v whit a c6auto ant T-lock, and had major rust to, quarter panels, trunck inner wheel, euhm... shells? new fenders, front window, edelbrock 600cfm new distributor, pearl-paint, new headliner, bought a nasa ram air hood, foose wheels, cooper cobra's on them, new REAL leather int, (no sky :nono:) new water pump, changed some part of the flor, and other things i forogot, so, the rust i'm not worryd about and cost, whitout the car istselve, it's about 8K for that one. not that much i think?

Why i i would by that other, becose, say i'm crazy, that 351 won't do, mean, mlore power and do not want to spend more money on it, so sell it and start ovezr again, + it has a manual, like it more. non mecanicle options, i'm not intersted in, just fun? by coinsidence to have.

so is it worth to to something like that? ore am i just crazy?

greetz frome your roots :yelpleased:
