The cases are aluminum alloy. Aka, lots of other junk metal mixed in with aluminum. That stuff is quite difficult to weld. I think that someone who is competent with a TIG can probably get it done, but you'll have to talk to such a person first. I weld with different systems, but I only have very basic training in TIG.
I actually had a Cobra T5 a couple years ago that had one of those very ears broken off! I scored a good case off ebay for $15. Cheaper and easier than welding. :yelpleased:
