sorry to say, i really do not like the v6 mustangs, i love the look.. just not the power..
they are alot cheaper, especially used, and my uncle was looking at one and he didn't want to spend the money on a gt. he too would not upgrade his, he's not into messing with the engine, even professionaly. is the v6 mustang just a car that looks cool, or does it have some pep to it?

...worth every penny!

If you ask this question, I think the answer would be relative to whatever kind of vehicle you--or your uncle--are accustomed to driving. If he's used to driving a 4-banger, he'll be pleasantly surprised; but if he's used to driving almost any other V8, he may be a lil disappointed.
Depending on what year stang he is considering, boasting anywhere between 190-210HP (stock) is nothing to be ashamed of... especially when the car looks as good as Mustangs do. Fortunately, the V6 is very responsive to bolt on mods if you're not satisfied with the stock HP & torque levels. Plus, the addition of a turbo or S/C can easily increase it's power output to that of a GT (not that he'd be interested...).

***Personally, I'm very satisfied with my sixer & plan on keeping her for a VERY long time. "Perfectly worth it" IMHO :shiny:

its plenty for a V6.

not exactly camaro power but for a 6 er its good, i got mine cranked up and wound out. it will run with a GT in the quarter neck and neck and hit or miss.

my 0-60 is 4.7 seconds.

its more than enough.

but i bought mine based on cost.

13,500 OTD 0% intrest.

i got a V8 in my trans am, and in my truck...thats good enough.

1999 and newer are definitely the years to go if you want a V6. No offense intended to the guys with the pre 99 cars so please don't lynch me, lol.

BEFORE MY V6 STANG ....I USED TO DRIVE A 95 INTEGRA A FEW MODS HERE AND THERE....CAR WAS VERRYYY FAST..BUT NO POWER..WITH THE STANG EVEN THO IT IS ALOT SLOWER FROM A FULL STOP TO GET GOING ( BECAUSE THE WEIGHT) YOU CAN DEFF FEEL THE POWER AND ITS MUCH MORE FUN...ALSO THE STANG HAS A HIGH END FINISH ...MEANING MY OLD INTEGRA COULD TAKE THE LEAD FOR A FEW SECS BEFORE THE STANG COMES FROM BEHING AND BLOWS RIGHT BY...SOOOOOOO YEAAAA EVEN THO IS A 6... THE POWER IS THERE AND YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THE LOOKS ....
P.S. LADIES LOVE STANGS :bigthumbsup

i'm one of the guys with the low powered v6's. my car is a 94 with 5speed and 2:73 rear end. it's a little slow on take off, but i bet i can keep up with most anything at highway speeds. love my stang, think i like it more cuz its a v6.

I bought mine with intentions of it being for transportation, not a track car or anything like that. It makes commuting much more enjoyable when driving it. I would probably stay '99+, but that's just my preference.

I actually Started with integras myself. They're not slow and they're not real fast but decently quick. They handle and corner well enough. but you have to wind the hell out of the engine to get any power. I love my six but as NYStang mentioned its heavier. Although it has more power its not so fast off the line Mainly cuz of the gearing. Although I get 33 on the highway. I mainly like the feel of the rear wheel drive and sliding it around. .......Not to mention doing burnouts with the smoke coming from the correct end of the car :hihi:

my sixer is a few mods from being complete, i need to install my gears i got sittin in my room, i need a demon coil, UDP's and an aluminum driveshaft.(maybe nitrous!!?!?) and already, without those things, my car is pretty peppy for a sixer. after that its just a couple more appearance mods before im done!

Personally, if he wants a nicer car, 99 and up are the best because they are newer, and most likely have less miles and less wear and tear. 99 and up stangs also have a little bit more power than the 94-98s. Either way, stangs are sweet, i love mine (even though i recently hit a Lincoln Navigator and mashed my bumper) and i wouldnt trade it for the world.

I agree, it kinda depends on what vehicle he is accustomed to.

It doesn't seem like he is concerned about performance and just wants it for normal everyday driving. I drove a newer GT and the only difference I really saw was that in my v6, I just had to press the gas down a little more than in the GT for normal driving . Im not saying that they both have equal performance, I'm just saying that they are both good for normal driving (minus the GTs passing power..lol).
He will also be saving some $$ at the gas station.

05horse you can actually do 4.7 secs 0-60 just asking because a friend of mine has a stealth that only does a 6 sec and he stomps on GT's like nothing even lightly modded 05s and up.:scratchchin

4.7... she winds out fast

ofcorse i hit 60 in second gear.

so i got one quick slam shift.

but 3rd levels out 4th isint worth much and 5th is for highway use only lol...

i am building my stang for 0-60 not quarter time, because if i catch a car at the light, instead of all out racing ill beat em to the spoeed limit!

here theres a few red lights in a 55 MPH zone.
