Should I buy this mustang for $4500?

Its got a 4.6 engine in it. 131000 on the mileage.

The car just had new back brakes, oil change, tires rotated and balanced. 6 disc changer, 8 tweeters on the outside(not hooked up at the moment), one 12 inch dub audio sub in the trunk ran by a JBL amp. Everything is good on the car never had any problems.

I asked the guy "It's a GT right?"
and he said.. "Naw gt's come standard with a 5.0"

5.0's stopped after 1995 in the Gt's
and 4.6 replaced it (1996 to present)(GT's)
and im pretty sure those are factory v6 stripes, and v6 have the pony emblems on the side

Nah, thats definitely a V6. GTs have dual exhaust and come with 4.6l and the V6s 3.8l. They never made 5.0 during that body style.

The car is in very good condition by the looks of it. Seems clean, but for those miles I would try to at least get it for less than 4k.

The new edge all have 4.6L V8's (except the 2K Cobra R 5.4L) I can tell you that is a V6 because for one, it does not have a GT emblem on the back of the trunk in the left low corner. It probably doesn't have fog lights either. It does not have dual exhaust cutouts from the rear bumper. Does he have engine bay pics? That would solve this whole problem if it was a 5.0, 4.6 or a 3.8. In the end, I would offer no more than 3-3.5k for that car as it sits right now.

i'm 10000% sure that is not a 4.6... its a 3.8 if the owner is saying its a 4.6 you can get him in trouble.. same crap as switching your miles back or selling a cobra clone for a cobra. id look for a good ole 5.0 with like 70k miles on it for 5grand or find a real 4.6 with about 80k miles for 10grand. a few ways to tell a gt is visually look at the block.. count the coils... gt has 17x8" rims not 16"... dual exhaust..

You can get a 96-98 Cobra for around 6-10k too...

oh come on.. with as many V6 stangs as there are out there, you can't tell those are the 16" V6 Mustang tires??? lol

Who really puts on V6 mustang tires for the winter.. like the 1" really would help...
