So, pretty soon here I will be adding B springs to my stock 02 vert. to get rid of the factory 4x4 look and improve the handling a little bit.

I have done my research, and this is the ride height and rake I want.

My question is directed to the guys out there who are currently using B or C springs on their new edge.

I am planning on leaving the stock rubber isolators on both front and rear if they are not that bad (yes I realize its 13 years old, but has very low miles and was kept in a climate controlled garage all these years. When I purchased it last summer it had the original tires on it, still in great condition and no dry rot what so ever - so there is that chance they will also be fine).

If the isolators do need replacement, I will go urethane for obvious reasons.

I have heard that the urethane ones will reduce the drop by anywhere from 1/4" to 1/2" (which is a lot, when you are looking at dropping 1-1/8" front and 3/4" rear).

I am sure many of you have changed out isolators as recommended, so what can you tell me about it?

I have urethane isolators on my car with C Springs. The rear sits much higher than I like and have though about removing the top isolator from the rear, the front still dropped pretty good (for C springs) with the isolators. Since it is my DD the front isos will stay in.

I can take a pic of my car as it sits now with all isolators in if you need me to. Also, the urethane isos are much thicker than the stock rubbers. I would see if you can find a stock replacement iso if you do not want the thicker urethane isos.

Jon,

I looked at the front, when you sent me the pics yesterday of your chin spoiler and the front looked good. (good to know that is with urethane).

If you want to send some of the rear whenever, that is cool

CJ sells the OE Ford rubber bushings but they are costly ($270 for both front and rear).

I am also putting Steeda LCA's on when I do the drop and have heard that those can drop the rear a little as well.

Thank you very much for the info. I am really keeping my fingers crossed that the stockers will still be good when I dig into her.

I wont go without isolators either.

I did that way back in my old bird (that I slammed) overall that was about a 3-3.5" drop.

It was cool when I was in my early 20's and single but now my wife and daughters ride in the Mustang with me, (don't want that).

Jon

FYI. CJ sells the OE rubber iso (rear lower) for 22.99 ea. (part # CSI6) the rear uppers are 25.99 each (CSI8).

I would think just replacing the lowers with rubber would allow your spring to settle in a little lower and maybe get you that 1/4-1/2" back.

Here are some pics...

I would probably get stock uppers on the rears. The rear uppers I have on now are much thicker than the lowers...

Enjoy.

Thanks Jon, I see what you mean about the rear, but it still looks way better than stock.

I think Ford should have sent the all the GT's (not just Bullits) out with the B or C springs.
In my opinion that is the correct look for this car.

Another thing. I bought the C's because I always planned on getting 18s eventually will which will fill the wheel gap a little better too.

Yeah, Ford should have done a lot of things differently on the our cars..like give us the 4V from the get go, panhard bar setup, aluminum blocks, comfy seats...etc...

Are you getting CC plates?

No, not with only dropping around an 1"

I realize it will give me more control over the alignment, but I am pretty confident I can dial it in back to factory spec without them.

not sure how much clearance they would leave with my strut tower.

If I have issues with the alignment, I will go back and add them, but I have a buddy who has dialed in more aggressive drops with out using them.

Here are my alignment recommendations...take them or leave them...

Camber -1
Caster (slam those struts as far back to the firewall as possible) +4 or something...
