I was swaping the discharge plate (under the blower-warranty) due to a bolt that let go before reaching torque. Well just my luck it happened again with a different bolt while bolting the bypass valve on. Two of the bolts reached torque spec no problem an the other two let go before reaching torque. I'm just going to ship the whole assembly back to Whipple and let them deal with it. It's pretty frustrating as I was only a couple of hours from having the project done.
Oh well at least I got the new sparkplugs in with no incidents other than a gash on my thumb.:so

Keep your head up! You'll get it resolved.
Yup. I actually didn't even freak out like I usually do. Even though it's like 70 degrees out today. The wife's Pony will be topless today(and later her) and that helps ease the pain.:bigthumbsup
...and so do a few Heineken's.

I have got to ask, what are you using for a torque wrench? Whick bolts are you referring to. I installed the same set on mine and all went flawless. I have straighten out some issues on other mustangs with the same set up and found Whipple's support to be great. When was the last time you had your torque wrench calibrated? I spent a frustrating week in Pamona building three engines at the track and in a motel room due to a bum torque wrench. Just a thought

No, dont be calm! Dont be collected, don't "take a deep breath, suck it up and keep trying!"

Go out and find someone you dont like and choke them, it'll make you feel better for sure. :bigthumbsup

...Sorry, i've been having a few bad days and choking someone is starting to seem like the answer to all my problems. :hihi:

Or buy a new one! :scratchchin
It's only a few months old(reg $99 paid $69 on sale- Motormaster from Canadian Tire, same quality as Craftsman fron Sears). Plus the other bolts torqued to spec no problem.

Yeah I'll Fedex my box of goodies to Whipple on Monday. Hopefully I'll get it all back within a week or two. Then it will just be a matter of setting it in the intake, tightening up the bolts, hook up the odds and ends, swap the pulley, load the tune and let'er rip.:)
But it sure was fun driving my bud's Vette. He just picked it up from storage(he just bought it a couple of months ago and hadn't even floored it yet.) He said "Go easy on it" and I said "don't worry I'll drive it as if it were my own" heh, heh. I got some open road and hammered it through first and second then a little in third. It pulls pretty good. I had a hard time wiping the grin off my face.:bigthumbsup

So does Whipple acknowledge there's a problem with the kit?

Actually not a problem with the kit. Art tells me I'm the first guy to have problems with bolts stripping. Maybe I missed the click on the torque wrench???I don't know. All I know is that the compressor, intercooler and discharge plate left on their journey back to Whipple today. Whipple is going to assemble everything and then pressure test it. So if all goes well I'll get it back next week. Then I've got about an hour of wrench time to get her back together and varooom she goes!!!
That's the plan anyways.:so
