Install was pretty straight forward. Made me abit nervous when I first fired it up((91 octane Perf. tune). Car didn't want to idle and was popping thru the CAI. Motor killed. Fired it up again and it ran rough was still popping but this time it kept running. Slowly it began to smooth out and quit popping. Pretty soon(2-3 minutes) it was running real smooth. I guess it takes abit for computer to adjust.T hen I put in and out of gear(automatic) and after a couple of minutes I turned on the A/C to put an extra load on it. Guy at Bama suggested that so the computer learns to adjust. Then after about 10 minutes took it for a ride. Ran real nice. The first thing I noticed was the shifting of the tranz, Each shift was very firm and positive. Not harsh or jerky. Same when it would downshift. Watched the guage and info. readings . All readings were the same as pretune. Everything normal including the air/ fuel ratio. All in all I'm very pleased. Throttle was very responsive. Have'nt tried the 91 Race tune yet. Save that for my next trip to the track.Ran it stock and had a best of 12.92 @109 last year. Looking forward to seeing the difference.

Thank you for taking the time to have this written up Bodon and I'm so pumped to hear that you are loving the intake and tune!

Make sure to keep us updated once you take her to the track, I know you'll be psyched.

Let me know if you ever need anything.

The popping through the CAI and running rough for 2 to 3 minutes does not seem right to me. The only time I had popping through the CAI(and I turned it off immediately to not damage my engine) was when I had my new CAI installed and I was having difficulty loading my first tune because I was an idiot and not turning the key far enough to the on position. i.e. I started my car with CAI meant for tune without the tune loaded yet and it started popping. Obviously the problem was with the air fuel mixture not proper.

Hey PM,

Even though OP's car is running great right now, I do agree that the first 2-3 minutes that he is describing is on the odd side.

If OP wants to get in touch with the Bama team and send over some datalogs to see exactly what happened there, I guarantee that it will never happen again!

Bodon, if you would like to get that setup, just shoot me a PM!

On the bright side, your car is running great and I can't wait until you get it to the track!

Liquid,

You definitely have your mind in the right place if that is the next thing on your list

Shoot me over a PM and can see what I can do about getting you a killer deal on an intake/tune kit!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Not certain how to do a datalog yet.

I am right there with you guys, I have plenty of bolt-ons, just deciding whether I should do custom dyno tune or the Bama V2 to tie everything together. It is certainly a tough choice considering all the good things said about Bama, and Americanmuscle hasn't steered me wrong yet!

I found out why I had issues when first tuned. I found out my custom tunes were not set up for my CAI. I ordered the tuner and CAI as a combo.I had to fill out the questionnaire about my car and "mods". Well all I had for mods was a Flowmaster catback. I didn't include the CAI I had just ordered as in my mind its wasn't on the car yet. I hadn't even received it yet. So I falsely assumed that BAMA would know it was going to be on the car when I received it, but not now. So I guess I screwed up. They sent me new tunes. Installed and this time when I first fired it up it was smooth from the get go. Lesson learned. The guys at BAMA were great got me straightened out fast.

I am glad you did not mess anything up as far as you know. Sounds like the ecu made adjustments for you to make it run smooth. I would think it was running lean with the new CAI at first. At least that is what I am interpreting with your posts. So now they sent you new tunes for the CAI so it should run a whole lot better.

You're right. The tech at Bama told me it wouldn't of hurt anything. I only drove about 35 miles. Then he told me that the tune in the computer shuts the car down if it gets too lean. Nice safety valve!!
