K frame question on a 1996 Mustang

I have a 96 mustang 3.8 auto and bought a 95 rollover w a 5.0 manual, everything has been swapped over and I'm ready to drop the 5.0 into it's new home but my concern is should I have taken the k frame from the 95 or will the 5.0 drop right into the 96? Looks like there's about a 1"to 2" spacing difference between the two k frames. Thanks for any advice...........
