Killed an NSX

So . . I'm coming back from Dairy Queen . . up behind me in traffic I see a black NZX and a red NSX right behind it. The black one gets around som traffic to get into the open and I get next to him. We start from about 45 mph and drop the hammer. I get the initial jump, but he stays close. Ended up pulling him by a couple car lengths before we backed off. Gave eachother the thumbs up and went about our business.

Good kill, I always thought those NSX kinda sucked. Overpriced and not enough power.
Thanks, Bill

They are supposed to run low 13s . . . and this guy likely could. It was close, but a kill nonetheless.

They are supposed to handle well. I think overpriced as well. Though stock for stock the NSX probably would have taken his stang. Of course it's hard to beat a nice h/c/i and supercharged stang.
Stock for stock, he woulda wasted me. No doubt. But . . . then . . . mine is no longer stock . . . :winks Still spent a lot less than he did, though.
I think those things cost like 80k +, for less you could build a stang that would run circles around it. SN95 body (Autumn Orange of course), 03 Cobra motor, all bolt ons with a 2.2 KB, TKO 600, full suspension, etc.... :kooky:

True, you spent less. The local guy who runs 6'[email protected] in his Pinto at the track spent less as well. The money arguement really means I spent less because I couldn't afford the more expensive car. Not always the case but generally I think true. Nothing wrong with that, I had a h/c/i supercharged 1995 Mustang GTS that made 480rwhp/420rwtq SAE that weighed in around 3200#'s. It had a complete suspension package on it as well and it ran like a runaway frieghtrain (when it ran :sosad: ). I reget selling it though, for that car would have easily beaten my new Vette and did beat my 03 Cobra when I ran against it on the highway (wife driving the 95). I spent a hell of lot less on that car than my current ride and it was no doubt faster but definitely not better.
The NSX was built int he same idea as the Rx-7, 300ZX etc... they are much mora balanced than our cars. They handle as well if better than they run the 1/4 mile... Track ready cars. THough the NSX was so expensive because it was all aluminum.. I mean body, chassis, and motor... save a lot of weight. Power to weight ratio was very high on these cars.

Though you right, I think they only had like 280hp and for 90K... Ouch, but I think they look cool.

BTW... Nice Kill... caught him by surprises:wavey

Actually .. I can afford just about any car I want. I drive my stang because I want to. I drive a 95 vert because it has the "don't mind me I'm slow" look. What I like is continually tweaking and modifying the car to make it better . . and to make it the way I want it. Anybody can write a check. The satisfaction comes from the process of taking a "normal" car and making it into something else . . . which is why I didn't buy a Saleen or a Rousch. And, when you run up against someone who wrote a check for something that he thinks will out run you . . . well . . . its all smiles. :winks

I just love it when somebody has to justify thier choice of vehicle with the same old "I can afford any car I want". I don't know how many times Ive heard this. No-one cares if you can afford any car you want, you dont need to tell us!
Apples(stangs) or Kiwis(exotics) :laughlitt

Hey now, there is nothing I like to see more in this world than rich people spending their money on the things they truly want, rather than the things that society THINKS they should have. A rich guy with a sleeper 95 GT, is WAY cooler than some rude jerk with a Gallardo and an attitude to match...:D

Dude . . did you even READ the post I was responding to? 95MGTS was comparing me to a Pinto and slamming my car because the Acura is "better." I didn't bring up the money thing. I merely stated that driving a Mustang is my choice . . . not my limitation.
Actually I brought up the money thing, and to a lot of true Mustang people its not about what new super expensive ride they could afford its making there stang what they want it to be. True for its time the Acura was a state of the art machine, but they will never out do the heritage of the mustang. :drink:
Why all the arguing about the cost of cars? I think it's safe to say we all live and breathe mustang, and if we don't, then why the hell are we here? We like our Stangs, wouldn't trade them in for the world, kinda like why I keep my BC Rich Mockingbird instead of buying a PRS. I bought an 86 Coupe, am taking out all the guts and making everything my own...Cuz the Mustang is untamed, just like its owners! So let's stop the bickering about car prices, if the stang cost 80 grand I'd still save up every penny I had till I could buy one :)
I agree, totally, Bill.

Here's my problem. I live in Scottsdale Arizona. Its a lot like Beverly Hills. The "street cars" that prowl around here are usually Ferraris, Porsches, Lambos, Bentleys, BMWs, Maseratis . . you get the picture. We hunt where we live. Thus, my kills are, generally, exotics. At the very least, they are usually cars far pricier than mine.

I'm not trying to make any statements about my car being "better" than those that I beat. Fact is, I don't buy into the materialistic BS that surrounds me. I don't need a Ferrari to make me feel like a big man.

All that being said . . . I love the looks on the faces of the guys I beat in my lil old vert!!:winks

A little sensitive huh? I never slammed your car either. You did say you spent a lot less though:

No need to justify what you can and can not afford to me. Though like someone said above, when somebody says they can afford any car they want....well, okay.

So like I said, that guy with a Pinto most likely spent less than you did for your car but his car is definitely faster......unless you can run 135mph in the 1/8th. So the point is, the money thing doesn't really mean a whole lot when it comes to car quality. How fast you want to go equals how big your pocket book is. Remember, faster doesn't mean better :winks
Correct. BUT . .. faster with the top down, the stereo jammin, and seein an NSX in your dust IS better!:winks

Now that I agree, might just be better :)
