I am looking at a set of 03 Cobra rims and can get them in 18X9" 6.1" backspacing for the front and 18x10.5" 6.9" backspacing for the rear. I was thinking about running 265/40/18's on the front and 315/35/18's on the rear. Has anybody run this combo before? Will there be any clearance problems on a 97 GT 5spd? It has not been lowered yet, but will be after the rims installed. Is there a different tire size for the front that I can run? I want the widest tire without any rubbing problems.

First off the rear will be 18x10 only the 17's come in 10.5.I have that setup and I'm running 265/35/18's in the front with 285/35/18's in the rear. For the rear's you can go bigger but finding them is the problem. You won't find a 315/35/18 anywhere. You need to look for a 315/30/18 and they are a little pricey.I would try looking for a 295/35/18.I have had no rubbing or anyother problems. My stock rims rubbed more than my setup and I'm lowered 1.6 all the way around. The perfect size for the front would be a 275/40/18.
