LED's in the wheel well - Opinions / Advice

Update: Sooooo, I went ahead and did it :) I like the look, rice and all ;-) Pictures at the end. A bit blurry and distorted due to low light. I got just the right amount of light.

Hey guys,
I am looking to put in some wheel well lights (not tire or rim lights). I was thinking about water proof LED strips, red in color. Have then wire into the radio so that they come on when the car turns on, or the radio turns on. Running the wire from the rear wheel well shouldn't be too hard.

But overall, is that too douche looking? Would you do it? I want a very faint, but noticeable red glow. Per the laws where I live, as long as the lights are not blinking/flashing or the source (bulb) is not visible.

My stang is white, so it would be similar with the picture, except I have the black GT rims.

Be honest, I do not mind people disagreeing. And if you have done, can you post a pic?

Yeah that's my opnion.... I wouldn't do it, but if you like it and if it goes good with the type of car scene you're into then go for it. Too "Fast and Furious" style for me. But if you do it, make sure they're mounted good lol, it would look kinda funny seeing it bounce off the tire while driving.
This may not help much but, yeah, I agree with Joe, a little bit Rice in my opinion. But it's your car take it in whatever direction you like.
Too "Fast and Furious" style for me.
its even too "fast and furious" for the"fast and furious" franchise these days....lol

Yeah a little over the top for me too.

I added foot-well white LED lighting on both sides and wired it into the overhead console lights, extra LED lighting strips in the trunk wired to the trunk light and under the hood too on a switch so that when I open the hood, the lights come on. But nothing outside the car.....

I just did the foot-wells with red led. LOVE IT! Also put red LED's in the map lights. Now, i do like the trunk idea too....

lol, I wouldn't know, I haven't watched past the second one when I was a teen.
""""NO""""

Leave the undercar and fender lights to the Jap crowd.

I agree with most others that it is a little over the top. Hope this helps!
I had green angel eyes with HIDs and green LEDs on my Kawasaki ZX-10R and loved it. That being said, I would never ever put glow lights around my Mustang. The only exterior lighting I'd consider would be another set of angel eyes/halos. It's a muscle car, not a rice burner. It'd just look wrong.

Also, good luck keeping wheel well lights clean.
For some reason, I read this post and immediately the song from the old commercial started running through my head... "Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat. Rice-a-Roni, the flavor can't be beat..."

Now it won't stop. Damn it.

But, hey... Your car. Do what makes you happy.

Just a reminder - "Rice - a -Roni - the San Francisco Treat" I busted a gut when I read that. Thanks for the memory!

I wired them into the radio so they turn on with the car, or just sitting there with the acc on. The inside lights are attached to the dome lights, so they come on with the remote...etc.

Enjoy! (or not...)

Doesn't look too bad. Not sure if I'd do it, but I like it more now that I see it. Enjoy.
